There are seven reasons for the existence of religion.

1. To explain the nature of reality.
2. For political and social control.
3. To provide a history of a group of people.
4. To provide a system of ethics for a group of people.
5. To request the intercession of the god in the face of misfortune.
6. To provide a sense of community.
7. To provide a sense of social superiority.
