Reducing Gun Death
It seems to me that the policy changes to reduce gun deaths in this
country are easy to understand. And quite possibly impossible to
implement. The reason I say this is no other first world country has
anywhere as many gun deaths as we do. By a factor of twenty. How to do
it? You do as these first world countries do. This is primarily done
through what I would call 'policy friction'. That is, you make it so
annoying to go through the process that most people won't do it. You
could, say, make every gun owner go through a three day training course,
for each weapon, repeatable every three years. Make the fee for the
course the same as the value of the weapon.
